KINGDOM SUPPORT SERVICES INC

Formed as a consequence of the 2000 organizational restructuring, this arm of the Society attends to the design, engineering, and maintenance of its buildings; owns its vehicles; and holds titles of its property. KINGS OF THE NORTH AND THE SOUTH

The book of Daniel mentions two kings—the King of the North and the King of the South. The King of the North was initially the Seleucian dynasty, and the King of the South was the Egyptian Ptolemies. The two dynasties no longer exist, however; hence the Watch Tower Society holds that the two kings are to be interpreted as roles played out by world powers. The King of the North’s role came to be occupied by Tiberius and his successors at the time of Jesus, while the King of the South’s identity eventually moved to Britain (who occupied Egypt in the first half of the 20th century) and subsequently to the Anglo-American world power.

The position of the King of the North moved to the German Empire and the Third Reich during the world wars, and then to the communist bloc during the Cold War. The present identity of the King of the North is not yet known, but he will mount a final campaign, not against the King of the South but against God’s people. The book of Daniel predicts that he will be defeated “without human hand” (Daniel 8:25). This final battle will be Armageddon, where Michael will prevail over Satan and end the present system of things.
